Skill training to unorganised sector workers by Delhi Government
Recently, the government of Delhi said it has introduced a training programme with the purpose of increasing the income of workers in the unorganised sector.
This programme is designed by the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University(DSEU), focuses at instructing labourers in the unorganised sector, including plumbers, electricians, blacksmiths, laundry workers, potters,etc.
Within this programme, various workers will be first recognised through various sources like construction board databases, district magistrate offices, associations. Once they are selected, they will be provided a certificate training course by the DSEU. Tool kits will also be given and uniforms related to their work, the government added.
Delhi government will also launch a portal with the details of all the trained workers so that consumers of their services can contact them directly.
This decision of launching a programme for unorganised sector workers was taken by Lieutenant- Governor of Delhi Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia in a meeting a couple of days ago.
According to the government, this programme will be very beneficial for the workers of the unorganised sector as it will improve their quality of life and income.
